School

Went to school today and talked to a class full of 11 and 12 year old kids and i hope and pray that they want to be part of this project. Their teachers suggested that at english class they will include writing letters to children in the Gambia for Sol to hand out there in the schools. Im very excited! After this day im going to start my own collection for jumping ropes, soccerballs and other good and fun things to do between classes in school. When i get them together i will send them to Sol right away.

Schoolkids

Tomorrow morning at 8,45 i will go to my kids school and talk to the students bout the project and see if they wanna join and if i can get the teacher to intergrate this into school curiculum

Motivation

Got the letters back ones more.....J and I have talked to their teachers about this project and the teacher wants me to come and present this project to all the kids in their different classes. I wanna talk to the principal too to see if he is willing to intergrate this in the diffent classes. My wish is to intergrate this project as much as possible in the schools to provoke thought and let out kids know how many things they have to be thankful for and how little it takes to make a change in someone elses life. I wanna try start collecting things for the kids in The Gambia to have at break in school, like our kids do with jumping ropes, soccerballs and basketballs anything that could be used during breaks to also encourage the excerise. Im very excited bout what is happened and i will keep writing bout my visit to the schools ones that is done. Blessings......

Wow....

I didnt hear from Sol in a long while but finally few days ago i got in touch with him and turns out he is gonna start school and also had been sick but had a speedy recovery from his cold. And we are back on track again with the letters. And i think this time he said he had more letters ....im excited to hear that more kids are interested. My girls Jas and indi is happy too that our project is slowly but surely pickin up speed. Im going to write a proposal to the teachers to see if they will be included in this project seemed that when i brought it up this fall in school there was a space for this kind of project in school. So now i will patiently wait the letters. :D Im thankful and happy for Sol being my partner in this i know i can always count on him and get good feedback on ideas. Im also starting to look into how much a house to rent would be to get moving on the afterschool activities.

I receive the letters from the kids in sweden atlast

Its been like three weeks since my partner teresia have sent the lettersthat she collect from the kids in sweden, we were all worried because it takens longer than we expected it to be.
but thank God they finally arrived and i receive them its 4 letters and 100 kroner for the posting of the reply to the letters back.

I have give the two letters to fatou and mam sanneh, as they already have a two other kids that they have been corresponding to already and now the two letters will be given to others two kids as soon as possible.

Worried.....

Its been a while now since i sent the letters and still they havent reached Sol. I am hoping that they just delayed cause of all the other mail being sent being december and all. i dont want the kids to wait and get bored with the project if the regular "snailmail" dont work i need to start gettin DHL to do deliver it for me. I wonder how i can make them look for it? I will give it another week

Gathering of letters to send...

...sadly enough it got delayed ...to send the letters back but finally its ready and i will send the money too. Tonight 24th of november it will be interesting to see how long it takes to get it there. Both me and Sol was surprised that the letters here took only less then one week they had told him about 2 weeks. So now we will see if they are as fast this route too LOL. The money for Sol to buy stamps will also be included and i know Sol is a little worried they will mess with the mail since we sending money in it. I will send just little incase it will be tempered with. Im glad tho for the children that are gettin so involved with this idea of mine. And everyday im thankful for the help i have of Sol he is really representing The Gambia big time.
